It's been a while...

since I posted anything on this blog. Things have been crazy at work. Our work load has doubled, but our workforce has shrunk by 1 team member:( We are busy, busy, busy. I come home VERY tired each day. The only thing I've thought about for the last year or so is rest. I miss sculpting and reborning:(

Finished my second sculpt..

Here he is. He didn't turn out the way I wanted but I'm happy he didn't break in the oven. I am now working on my third sculpt and hopefully I'll be able to create a realistic clay baby.

Wii Fit

In other news, I also bought a Wii Fit yesterday, and I love it! I am hoping it will help me lose some weight. I'm thinking 30 lbs by the end of this year. I will be starting a new diet and exercise program this week.:)

Food Processor

So I went to Walmart today to buy a Food Processor to mix Super Sculpey and Cernit and guess what? It doesn't work! ARRRRGGGGGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't even make any noise is completely dead.
Now I have to drive 5 miles to return it, hopefully they'll give me one that works this time. I hate Wally World!

Ruined

Yep, I used Prosculpt. I think I probably moved the clay around too much becuase the moonies are all over the head.
Well, I started sanding the head with my dremmel tool (mistake #1) and everytime I would get to a moonie I couldn't resist and just had to get rid of it(mistake #2 lol), well one thing led to another and pretty soon his forehead was feeling hot and soft, so I thought maybe it was not fully baked (even though I baked it for 1 hr and 30 min @ 265 degrees), but I was wrong I was sanding too much and this is what the baby looks like now.

You can clearly see the shrunken foam form, it looks like he has a small alien living in there. LOL

Since the head is already destroyed I decided to drop it off the table, the counter and the top of the fridge to see how strong Prosculpt is, well the head didn't break or crack.
Live and Learn.
I will probably start sculpt # 2 in the next few days. I went to Roberts and Michaels today and bought some Super Sculpey and Cernit ( I think I got the old Cernit) so I will be mixing 1:1.

Finished head

So I finally finished and baked this baby's head. I think he turned out ok, but I see many, many different spots where the clay looks lighter, I am not sure if these are What professional sculptors call moonies (small air pockets):( ::crossing fingers:: I hope they are not! ::crossing fingers::
I will be sanding this head tomorrow morning.
Anybaby, here are some pics of my very first baby;
